Journal Prompts For Self-Compassion
/To me, a journal is many things simultaneously. It is a place to collect your thoughts, a place to rest and unburden yourself, and a place to share your excitement and gratitude. Like running or drawing, writing in a journal is a skill and talent you build over time. The quality of your writing may get better, but the most important thing is that your ability to be truthful and open up to yourself grows over time.
There is no wrong or right way to keep a journal. I prefer a balance of writing whatever comes to my mind and using journal prompts that coax any thoughts or ideas I might have to the surface. At first, when I started journaling, a lot of negativity flowed onto the page. Now, I’ve learned to catch myself in the act when that happens. I never erase anything negative I write, but I do always add a positive twist and end the journey entry on a good note.
This is one of the reasons why I enjoy journaling prompts so much. These help you stay focused and fixated on a single topic. They inspire you to see the words when all you see in front of you is a blank page. Your point of view narrows so much you get to the root of how you’re feeling without your mind drifting elsewhere. And once you start writing, it can be very difficult to stop.
Today, I’m sharing 15 journaling prompts to encourage self-compassion and self-discovery that you can use in any journal you use. Whether it be a daily journal, a bullet journal, or a digital journal. If you’re seeking inspiration for the next page in your journal, keep reading!
