Recently, I asked my followers on Instagram to help me choose my next playlist. I love doing these story quizzes because it’s a really fun way to connect with new people and explore different aesthetic and musical tastes. This time, they voted for the playlist I called ‘Dissecting Fairy Tale Creatures’.

I wrote this title with a certain aesthetic in mind. Imagine a gothic, gloomy laboratory situated in the remnants of an old brick tower. In there, a pursuer of the sciences, studies the bones and writings of mythical and magical creatures, all in an attempt to understand what they are and how magic exists. The scientist uncovers fresh and long-forgotten graves to find the source of magic and mystery. The magical creatures in the surrounding wood know never to stray too close to the tower, lest they be captured too.

I wanted this playlist to have an instrumental and classical sound, with songs that inspire a whimsical and magical but eerie and sinister quality. I hope you enjoy it.
